Umer was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan where he fell in love with Bollywood cinema and Eastern Classical music. He is a songwriter, composer, film, and music connoisseur who performed live on stage, studied film in Pakistan and Prague and moved to LA six years ago. He sees the world through the eyes of his family, giving him a love of tradition and poetry while he is finding ways to embrace the modern world. His South Asian identity has given me him love of collaboration, of layering in the old with the new, of hustling, creating, inventing, and never giving up. He feels the deep well of culture and history that feeds him, and he is here to share his experiences with the world, and he considers it his responsibility to give voice to it, in his own individual way.
