Biography

DJ ARTiFX aka Vimal Keval is a Southern California (USA) native and since 2015 resides in India.

Dj ARTiFX has evolved through the entertainment spectrum in Los Angeles, California from TV commercials and modeling, in his early years, to Djing and music production through the decades to follow. After falling in love with the studio environment, he pursued a career as an audio engineer and earned his BAS in Sound Arts at SAE Expression College.

Starting his musical career as a dj and promoter, he was part of the rise of the Indian club scene in Los Angeles, California in the late 1990's and worked with major record label street teams such as Def Jam, Priority Records, Virgin Nu-trybe to name a few.
His countless industry events include concerts and club events for artists like Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Mc Yoyo, Sisqo and NBA players such as Lamar Odom, Luke Walton and Jordan Farmar.

As a producer and audio engineer, he has worked in many studios across many projects, indie labels and genres of music with producers like multi-platinum producer and songwriter Guy Roche at Banana Boat studios in Burbank, California. He eventually opened his own studio Indus-Tree Studios in Pomona, California. Now operating in India he is also a member of the South Gujarat hip hop group Music Dharma.

DJ ARTiFX along with former show co-host DJ Uri made it their mission to bring the underground hip hop scene in India and around the globe to the masses. They recognize the growth of the genre and culture that is all too reminiscent of the global industry that started in the USA over 50 years ago.
It's Bigger Than Hip Hop is a show that journeys through the regions and languages of India through the medium of Hip Hop and the artists of all five elements.
